St. Cecilia Church, a renowned landmark of East Harlem's historic El Barrio district, has been awarded two grants by The New York Landmarks Conservancy (NYLC) totaling $80,000 and an additional grant for $200,000 from New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Read Story
First Annual Dinner Dance 2011
The Commander John Shea/Saint Cecilia Schools Alumni will hold their 1st Annual Dinner Dance on Saturday, April 16, 2011. Proceeds of the dinner dance will go toward restoring the St. Cecilia Church roof.Music will be provided by a D.J. The entrance fee is $50 per person and proceeds will be added to matching grants for restoring the church's roof. Additional donations are appreciated. The dinner dance will be preceded by a 5:30 PM Mass at St. Cecilia Church. Mass participants will walk to the Cooke Center starting at 6:30 PM. Read Story
2010 Archdiocesan Stewardship Appeal
Four representatives of St. Cecilia’s Church attended a Volunteer Recognition Dinner, hosted in late June by Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan to celebrate the success of the 2010 Archdiocesan Stewardship Appeal. The program raised more than $17 million from 60,000 individual gifts in donations and pledges. Read Story
School Reunion 2010
Calling all St. Cecilia's School and Commander John J. Shea School alumni. You are invited to an all year reunion this coming April 16-17th. The 2010 Reunion Committee is planning to a two day event, a Friday meet and greet for those who can attend and a Saturday, reunion complete with a 5:30 PM Mass and sit down dinner. Read Story
