Hi everyone, it's nice to see a guest book on Commander Shea & St. Cecilia. I attended both Commander Shea and St. Cecelia along with my older brother and Sister Jeanette and Steven. My sister is always saying that there should be a reunion. If anyone know of any types of reunions please email me. Thanks

What a plasure to see that Commander Shea School is still going strong. I attended the school during 1960-1968. I just want the teachers and staff to know how I made out. I am a Retired American Airlines 747 Captain, and author of three books. Former pilot for Ricky Martin, Commadores, Earth Wind and Fire and The Dallas Cowboys and Mother Teresa. I never forgot the lessons taught and the school song. Thanks to all especially Brother Sarano.

Jose, I am a POWER MEMORIAL graduate who attended St. Cecilia's in 1959-60. What a great parish and great neighborhood. Played a lot of basketball in the playground on 106th betw. third and lex. aves. Had the pleasure of playing with and against Dean "The Dream" Meminger who went on to star at Marquette Univ. and with the NY Knicks.
Would love to hear from any of the old crowd that used to "hang out" in the playground.

I came across your site while searching an East Harlem Site--what a surprise and wonderful idea! My connection to the parish is that I was baptized there in 1966. I have always thought that the name is so beautiful. That period in time stirs all kinds of curiosity in knowing more about my parents early beginnings in the US by way of El barrio--from their beloved towns in Puerto Rico. . .I am glad that part of my personal history is alive and preserved. Blessings to all. . .

Great, great memories of St. Cecilia's. Went to school there from 1956 through 1965. Alterboy and member of the CYO. Was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Celcilia's. God bless all the parishoners who remain in the soul of my heart. I am who I am today because of my roots and St. Celicia's was the foundation.
